Back after a 7 year Hiatus

Postby Lilacwanderer on November 26th, 2017, 7:41 am

    Hello, there. :)
I had to create a new account here because my old one was deactivated long ago, and I'd like a fresh start, anyway.
A few of you here may remember me formerly as DeborahHedgehog.
I had a partial FanFic that I put quite a bit of work into, and then abandoned, and I'm glad to see it's still all on here. :)

I wanted to tell people that during the time that I wrote that emotional drama of a story, I was under dire and incredible circumstances, I was trapped in an abusive relationship while living in Mexico, and that fanfiction became my main form of escape, after having rediscovered it. Looking back, so many of those dark and dire emotions were showing through in my writing.

But, I was also inspired greatly by one of the moderators, here. Indeed, for a while, there, both of our fanfics bounced off of, and eclipsed one another. I suppose I even have him to thank for having been the inspiration that pulled out some of the greatest parts of my writing, that had been trapped inside of me ever since I had been 15 when the story first took concrete form, but was then forgotten about for many years, save for another snippet or two.

And that world, newly opened, and flowing through me freely, was the place and refuge I often went to, that helped get me through some of the darkest times of my life. But, not he, nor anyone else really ever knew what I was going through as that story kept unfolding, and nobody knew that diving into that private world of my Sat Am Alternate Universe had become my refuge and my escape from what much of the time was literally Hell on Earth for me.

And, misguided though they may have been due to my traumatic situation, I still remember the feelings I had for that person who at the time gave me such great strength and inspiration, and what it meant to me.

I eventually escaped that situation, and ended up with a man who helped pull me out of it, despite having dragged him through the mud in the process. He became my Real hero, and even though we suffered and had rough times together, we came out on top with a beautiful family, a happy growing 3 year old little boy and 5 years together and counting.

And now, I come back here today, wanting to share this, and my story here, and tell people that I would like to write a book about it, an autobiography of my experience, what I went through, and I want to include snippets of the Fanfic in my book to illustrate what an Integral role writing it had in getting me through those dark times in my life.

Yes, I would like the world of Sat AM to receive a Huge acknowledgement in my book for what it did for me to help get me through that Hell on Earth.

I was wondering, if any of you think I should start a Crowdfunding campaign in order to get the funds to have it written, me being a Stay at Home Mom? Tell me your thoughts.

It's so good to be back. ;)

Welcome back lilacwanderer. I'm a relatively newer member (I joined about five years ago) and I've been on a hiatus myself (only about 1 year though). I'm sorry to hear you had such a rough time earlier in your life. I'm glad that you're doing better now.

I read through your old fan fiction last night, specifically the prologue of the roboticizor. I found it very enjoyable. It's interesting that it was Sir Charles Hedgehog who invented the roboticizor just for the blueprints to be stolen and used for evil purposes. However, SatAM only mentioned this very briefly in one episode and never delved into any detail beyond a few sentences, so it was nice to read your more in-depth take on this backstory.

    Anyway, welcome back.

Hey lilac/Deborah, I remember you! Thanks for sharing your story. So glad you are doing better now, and it does my heart good to hear that this site helped give you some refuge during that time.

If you start a campaign I will donate a few bits. As you can tell, things are pretty quiet around here, so I can't guarantee there will be an outpouring of support, but you could give it a shot :)
