Short answer: as long as SoJ has their mandates in place and are meddling in it I wouldn't hold my breath. You have to remember: this comic has essentially become nothing more than a glorified advertisement for Sega's games and merchandise and Sega has an image that they want to keep.

Bottom line; we need to quit looking at this comic as the "cannon" in our heads and expecting things to go back to SatAM or turn back the clock to a better era of the comic. If you are of the mind that this is "official and the 'true' Sonic" then you're in for disappointment and will wasting your time.
