Well, since I'm done with school for now, I can get back to developing the web comic based on your series. It may take a while, but it's still coming around.

While rewriting some scenes in the script and practicing the character drawings, I'm also throwing around a few ideas for later episodes. One of the ideas I currently have is Robotnik's possible redesign when he returns from the Void at the end of season 1. Since he's been trapped within that empty pocket dimension for some time with one of his worst enemies, I figured he'd be driven insane and not quite the Robotnik he once was.

    Image

This redesign was based after Robotnik's appearance in the Fleetway series, whose creepy personality and appearance was like a mixture between Eggman's insanity and Robotnik's menace times a hundred. Whenever this Robotnik showed his face in the comics, I got chills down my spine. I figured, if the SatAM Robotnik were to become more menacing in the future, this would be the perfect appearance for him. What do you think?

Personally, I love his Satam design since it was so epic looking for a villain.

But, if this one is more to your liking, I suppose it's ok.

Although, since Robotnik won't be making any appearances until Season 2 of this series, it probably won't matter much for now anyway.

Personally, I'd like to see how you're going to draw Snively and the Freedom Fighters since they're going to be the major characters of the story.

That's kinda one of the problems I'm currently facing. I don't know whether to go with the official Sega look or a look more reminiscent of the original cartoon series. I may try a mixture between the two, but I'm not so sure in what degree.

Most people would normally not view this as such a big issue, but I guess that's just me.

This is my perferred choice of art style since I love nostalgia

I admit I like his SegaSonic design alot too, but his DIC look has always been my personal favorite.

But, since you're the artist here, you go with what you think is best.

I want you to enjoy making this comic since it was so nice of you to offer. :)

I just had another random idea. During our last discussion, you mentioned that you may use the Seedrians in the series. If so, what story would they best fit in? The Xorda invasion maybe?

It be interesting if Cosmo is a prisoner of the Xorda who escaped to Mobius to warn the Freedom Fighters of the upcoming invasion. And maybe the Seedrians aren't the only enslaved race, but also the Whisps, Bem, and the Drakon Empire as well. And who knows, maybe a crossover with "Ristar" perhaps? And in the end, Cosmo sacrafices herself to stop the Quantum Dial and save Mobius.

Okay, I might've went a little overboard here; but still, that would be a fun story to read. Just a suggestion.

    Hmmm...

Well, Cosmo escaping to Mobius because the Xorda tried to wipe out the whole Seedrian race might actually work in a story.

Not too sure about the other species, but I'll think about it.

I have two more ideas for the series:

    1. After Robotnik's return when Naugus takes over as the main villain, Snively goes to the Freedom Fighters to warn them about the danger. From the way it sounds, how would it be if Snively goes rouge? Like maybe he gets fed up with both sides of the war and decides to leave his uncle's side by starting his own movement. Its sole purpose is to oppose both sides of the war for his own personal gain with the help of other freelancing rouges and organizations like the Destructix, the Dark Botherhood, and maybe the Drakon Empire.

    2. Is Scourge still going to make an appearance? If so, will Moebius or any other alternate realities ever be explored? It would be interesting to see other alternate versions of the characters and settings. Like maybe an alternate timeline where the Great War never happened, or a world where everyone's gender is switched. I'm a sucker for those sorts of stories.

Actually, it's more like Snively is running for his life, especially after what he sees Naugus do to Julian when he returns from the Void.

It won't be pretty, that much is certain.

Yes, Scourge will be in the story, as the leader of Destructix. However, I don't plan to show the Moebius universe since I find very lame due to most of the characters just be evil versions of the Freedom Fighters.

At least with Scourge, he stands out enough that he doesn't entirely look like Sonic's clone.

Although, I will make a brief mention of Scourge being exiled from Moebius after his traitorous behavior there, where he then escaped to Sonic's world and formed a gang with those who are lowlifes and criminals.

That's true! I've always thought of the opening as a mini episode.

    * Tails grows up to be a moody teenager who has developed a crush towards Sally. Tails misunderstands Sally's motherly love for "actual" love and tries to rob a kiss from her. Sally explains, then Tails has a confrontation with Sonic to hurt his pride.

That one sounds like a quick fanfiction plot, lol. Don't think I really like that idea, but as Laser wrote, it could be done well. Didn't he get a crush on her for a while in the comics though?

When the Chaos Emeralds make their appearance, how should they be portrayed? Does each emerald possesses its own unique power, similar to their portrayal in AoStH? (One emerald grants immortality, another grants incredible strength, ect.)

    Oh wow, almost forgot the Chaos Emeralds! I did wonder what would happen if they were in SatAM a while back, though. SatAM uses the rings that the games had, they should use Chaos Emeralds too! (Sonic X had both, although they rarely used the rings. Which is ironic since you can find them left and right in the games, and every day in SatAM) And I had no idea AoStH had Chaos Emeralds. Guess it's cause I hardly watch it. >__>;

NOOOOO!!!! Not Antoine!! D: :twanscared: *cries in corner* Anyone but him! (Or Tails. Don't you DARE lay a FINGER on Tails!)

Natalla wrote:If there's one bad thing I can say about SatAM, its what they did to Tails. I get maybe trying to show him as a young kid who idolises Sonic who slowly and eventually grows and develops into a member of the team but the show seemed to completely forget about him until the last few episodes of the series. His development should have come a lot sooner than that.

That's true. They REALLY downgraded Tails from Sonic's sidekick and best friend in the games to the tagalong kid who rarely does anything. I mean, I didn't really know anything about Tails when I watched SatAM, so later on when I started playing Sonic 2 I was surprised he was such a big character in the games, yet tossed aside in the cartoon. He did more in a single game than in an entire TV series!

LogiTeeka wrote:Thats a cool idea, especially since Bunnie's backstory was never fully developed. It would show more of her personality and past life, which is something I wished the 2nd season should've focused more on.

Bunnie was reeeeeally put aside. Which sucks, since she could have been a pretty interesting character. I personally really like her. She does eventually get treated better by the comic though.

In the games and Archie series, Mighty is a gentle and caring pacifist who loves to travel, only using his strength and fighting abilities when there is no other option.

Wait, Mighty's in the comics? AWWWWW YEEEAAH (I've only read about 25 issues or so, so I wouldn't know)

LaserX5 wrote:But yea, I actually might make Chris 17, especially he would be more mature and less whiny at that age.

That would be a good idea. I didn't really care for Chris as a kid in Sonic X, but I did respect him a lot more when he got older.

Dude, that's awesome. XD You deserve a high five!

    Gahh, sorry for the extremely long post. I just read the topic and quoted things as I went through. I went back and cut parts out of my post, but it's still insanely long. >__>;

Just curious, but how would you portray the Suppression Squad? I can understand their lameness in the earlier issues, but I thought their current portrayals were pretty good. Both their personalities and appearances are now more easily distinguishable from their Mobius Prime counterparts.

Relax. I haven't decided yet. It's just an idea I'm kicking around.

My first idea was to have him eventually wielding a razor sharp laser powered sword. I might just go with that.

As for Tails, he won't be killed off, but I will say he'll endure some painful hardship during his first month as a Freedom Fighter. I hope it doesn't bother you that I told you this.

That would be a good idea. I didn't really care for Chris as a kid in Sonic X, but I did respect him a lot more when he got older.

Also, he will be mostly be in the background, as he SHOULD HAVE BEEN in Sonic X.

So, LaserX5, when's your fanfic coming out? I really want to read it. :)

Actually, Snively will attempt to seize power again since his Uncle was previously in a magic daze from Naugus

However, his timing will be terrible, and Julian soon snaps out of it, making him seriously regret his folly. Robotnik will even threaten to personally execute him if he dares to try it again. And yes, Snively does want to leave after that, but Julian adds if he ever dares to go AWOL or even help the Freedom Fighters again, he'll personally hunt him down, roboticize his body and then melt it down into a trash compactor.

Yea, I know it's kinda of a graphic description, but I wanted Julian's threat to be bad enough Snively is too scared to try and rebel, at least for the time being

Just curious, but how would you portray the Suppression Squad? I can understand their lameness in the earlier issues, but I thought their current portrayals were pretty good. Both their personalities and appearances are now more easily distinguishable from their Mobius Prime counterparts.

If I had to put in the Suppression Squad, I'd give them a complete makeover. They would look nothing like the Freedom Fighters.

Sure, I'd show some similarities as a way to portray their rivalry, but very vague ones since I personally hate anti-characters.

Alicia and Miles for example look WAY TOO MUCH like their Freedom Fighter counterparts.

Okay, so the Suppression Squad won't be in the series, but what about other alternate realities? I've got several scenarios already in mind in case you're interested:

    * An alternate reality where Sonic never existed. Robotnik succeeded in roboticizing all the Freedom Fighters, but they managed to maintain their free will and continue doing their work undercover. And their leader, surprisingly, is Snively planning a rebellion against his uncle, using the Freedom Fighters' special skills. But the only one standing in his way is Tails (who's the main hero instead), leading a group of children against Robotnik's rule.

    * An alternate reality were Sonic's family is royal and the Great War never happened (Sonic Underground). In this reality, Robotnik is a greedy Overlander ambassador who managed to overthrow the royal family and conquers most of Mobius under Overland control. He allows the richer class to live as long as they pay them tribute, but roboticizes anyone caught disobeying Overland order. Also in this reality, Sally's father is a knight serving under Queen Aleena (Bernadette), the Freedom Fighters are a larger network called "the Resistance", and Snively is Robotnik's new adviser in overseeing his battle plans.

    * A post-apocalyptic future where Robotnik succeeded in unleashing both Iblis and Chaos upon the world. But they both betrayed him and awakened Dark Gaia from benieth the world. Now the Freedom Fighters' descendants face a new threat. Their leaders are Silver (the son of Sonia and Shadow) and Blaze (the last surviving princess of the Felidae Tribe); but they're being mislead by an unknown figure who calls himself Mephiles, secretly an interdimensional demon bent on taking control over Chaos', Iblis', and Gaia's powers.

I was thinking, if there should ever be a story dealing with timetravel or a reality altering entity, these scenarios could be good for some potential storytelling.

    Hmm...

Well, I'll be honest with you here and admit alternate universes is not something I'm very fond of, or even know how to write well for that matter either.

Although, I will say I did at one time consider writing a 10 MLY styled story where Mobius is peaceful, until Iblis and Mephelis are released by Rouge during a treasure hunt, which in turn causes mass havoc, even destorying the city.
