Ah, well fortunately for you, I have something of that nature planned. ;)

Sally in the later parts of the series will wear a special combat jumpsuit built by Rotor that gives her temporary stealth ability, allowing her to roam around Robotropolis undetected, save for the sound of her footsteps.

Or an episode where she or Bunnie get affected (temporally) with some kind of chemical and turn into liquid/goo/slime girls that can melt, shapeshift, etc..

But those are just my ideas of what I would like to see

Well, I don't honestly see how that would help with any missions or furthering the storyline.

But, to each their own... :nervous:

    Ahhh...

Well, I honestly don't have too many of those ideas planned since I'm not one to show a quiet moment without a reason.

    That's just me though.

Thanks for the feedback by the way.

I have a question. How should Robotnik's backstory be? Was he always evil, or is he a tragic figure?

    I have an idea:

Julian Kintobor was once a kindly scientist born in The Land of the Sky. Disturbed by the side effects of war, Kintobor started to build a machine in order to absorb all worlds’ evils into the newly-rediscovered Chaos Emeralds. But six emeralds weren’t enough, however: Kintobor required the seventh Grey Emerald to stabilize the process and safely purge Mobius of all evil. During this time, Kintobor made friends with a speedy young hedgehog named Jules (Sonic’s father), and the pair worked together to find the missing Grey Emerald. Intrigued by his new friend's incredible speed, Kintobor conducted some experiments by having Jules run on his Kinetic Gyratoscope, helping the hedgehog to run even faster. When Kintobor invented the friction-less Power Sneakers, Jules was able to run faster than the speed of sound. The resulting sonic boom shattered the Gyratoscope and turned him from brown to his more famous blue form.

One day later, while Jules was hanging out in the lab and Kintobor went to fix them some food (finding only a rotten egg in the fridge, Jules accidentally caused Kintobor to trip on a cable and slam his hand against the machine's control panel. The machine exploded, destroying the laboratory and ruining all the years of research to rid Mobius of evil. With his life’s work destroyed, Kintobor grew insane and (having been bathed in negative chaos energy) began turn evil, slowly transforming him into the megalomaniacal Ivo Robotnik. He swore revenge on the entire world and began a different set of plans to somehow rid the world of all harm.

Shortly thereafter, The Great War between the Overlanders and the Kingdom of Acorn began. After a series of failed experiments, Dr. Kintobor was placed under arrest by his brother Collin. Both Kintobor and his nephew, Collin Jr. “Snivelly”, escaped from prison and were later rescued by Jules Hedgehog and his brother Sir Charles. Feeling pity for ruining the scientist’s experiment all those years ago, Jules took Kintobor back to Mobotropolis, where he was able to relay some helpful information to King Acorn.

With his tactical skills and army of Swatbots, Kintobor was declared a hero and became warlord. But because of his failed attempt to rid Mobius of evil, he wasn’t allowed to become the Head Minister of Science. But when Sir Charles’ experiment of healing injured Mobian soldiers was declared to dangerous, Kintobor saw another way of succeeding. Before long, Julian Kintobor (renamed Dr. Ivo Robotnik) betrayed the kingdom and launched a full scale coup d'état, taking over Mobotropolis and renaming the city “Robotropolis.”

    What do you think?

Personally, I was thinking along the line or a tragic/evil backstory.

He should have something tragic happen to him which results in Julian becoming very bitter. Then, his older brother becomes vastly more popular in status than he is, making him extremely jealous as well.

I don't know what the tragedy would be, but when his brother becomes leader of the Overlanders, Julian would then strike back by concocting a diabolical plan to turn the Mobian and Overlander population against each other, resulting in a bloody war.

After that, he would sabotage his brother's efforts in an attempt to make him look pathetic and incompetent ruler so he could come swooping and take his spot.

    I have an idea:

    Not bad.

Although, shouldn't Julian's bitterness be more complex than just Jules destroying his stuff?

    Just a thought...

Well, it was his life's work, to get rid of all evil on Mobius. I mean, if you spent most of your life working on a certain objective, devoting all of your time and effort to make your dream a reality, only for it to suddenly be destroyed in front of your face... yeah, you would become upset.

The idea was inspired by Robotnik's backstory from the Fleetway series. While Dr. Ovi Kintobor's character wasn't fully explored, this story did at least explain why Robotnik was so evil. I mean, in all the other Sonic continuities, Robotnik's motivation was never explained. I figured, if you want to make a seemingly flat character interesting, have him something that the readers can identify with.

In this case, Robotnik's wife and kids were killed in a war, and he wanted to stop all the suffering and death in the world. But his efforts were destroyed, which made him grow insane and swear revenge against everything.

    Hmm...

Well, when you put it that way, it does make alot of sense.

Having your life's work destroyed would negatively affect anyone.

I've just read your summery of planned episodes for the "Satam-X" series, and I'm excited. But to make the series a bit more interesting, how would it be if there were several subplots scattered about the episodes that have some relationship with the central plots? They can either be setups for future episodes, or help develop the characters a bit further. I've already came up with a few suggestions:

    * Knuckles learning to tolerate company (due to him living in almost complete isolation from most Mobians)
    * Tails getting jealous of Sonic and wanting to get attention.
    * Sonic’s speed is taken away from him, so he has to rely on his wit.
    * The Freedom Fighters having to give up a comrade in need of help.
    * Snively reuniting with an old rival.
    * Manic having to babysit a child.
    * Tails being forced into adoption and running away from home.
    * Rotor proving his usefulness by doing some detective work.
    * The Freedom Fighters having to learn who to trust.
    * Cream befriending a beaten up robot (possibly Emerl or E-123 Omega?).
    * Bunnie and/or Rotor reuniting with an old friend or family member.
    * The Freedom Fighters encountering a race of xenophobic species (possibly Nerbs?).
    * Sonic and Sally swapping bodies and learning to deal with each others’ problems.
    * The Freedom Fighters helping an alien race (possibly Seedrians, Whisps, and others?).
    * Tails dealing with bullying.
    * The Freedom Fighters entering a competition (basically a trap set up by either Robotnik or Snively).

Do any of these sound interesting enough? I'd like to hear it.

Well, the thing is, Knuckles won't be alone since the Chaotix are with him on Angel Island.

    * Tails getting jealous of Sonic and wanting to get attention.

The only way I could do this and not make it be another 178-179 fiasco(pardon my description there) is if Tails does something very valiant, but Sonic gets most of the credit, making him feel inferior and a bit bitter.

Of course, I'll admit I'm very reluctant to show Tails having any angst moments because it really has rubbed me the wrong way, such as in the comic.

    * Sonic’s speed is taken away from him, so he has to rely on his wit.

Wasn't this already done though in Satam?

    * The Freedom Fighters having to give up a comrade in need of help.

    Hmm....

That might be an interesting plot point, though I don't know for sure who could fit that description as the perfect choice.

    * Snively reuniting with an old rival.

I don't know who would be a good rival though for Snively.

    * Manic having to babysit a child.

Been done before like Sonic's speed being taken away. I really don't like revisiting a plotpoint unless it wasn't done very well.

That's just my opinion though. :nervous:
    *
Tails being forced into adoption and running away from home.

Umm... why would Tails be forced into adoption and want to run away from home?

    * Rotor proving his usefulness by doing some detective work.

Eh, maybe... though I don't know what kind of detective work he would do.

    * The Freedom Fighters having to learn who to trust.

They'll be doing quite a bit of that since they're in a battle for their very survival.
    *
Cream befriending a beaten up robot (possibly Emerl or E-123 Omega?).

Eh, I might use Emerl, but the E-123 is one I don't think fits the Satam universe, especially considering Robotnik has a arsenal of robotic soldiers.

    * Bunnie and/or Rotor reuniting with an old friend or family member.

I may show Rotor discovering the remaining remnant of his family. Not sure though. As for Bunnie... I really don't know.

    * The Freedom Fighters encountering a race of xenophobic species (possibly Nerbs?).

Hmmm... well, the Nerbs could become apart of the Lower Mobius Freedom Fighters.

    * Sonic and Sally swapping bodies and learning to deal with each others’ problems.*

While that could make for a very interesting story on paper, I admit I have no clue on how to operate it correctly.

The Freedom Fighters helping an alien race (possibly Seedrians, Whisps, and others?).

There's an offchance I may put in the Seedrians, but I'm not sure at the moment.

    * Tails dealing with bullying.

That would mean someone in Knothole would be bullying him, and I can't imagine they would get very far with Sonic and Sally being protective of him.

    * The Freedom Fighters entering a competition (basically a trap set up by either Robotnik or Snively).

That sounds alot like Sonic Racer I hate to say...

Do any of these sound interesting enough? I'd like to hear it.

They do. Thank you for sharing them with me.

Personally, I like it when Sonic and Tails are on opposite sides. It makes their relationship a bit more believable. I mean, they treat each other like brothers, but in real life, not all relationships are perfect. Every so often, a simple argument can lead two brothers into a unfriendly rivalry.

I figured, if there was something that would lead these two to becoming bitter enemies, it would probably be Sonic's higher recondition and egotistical image. Sonic's like the main hero to everyone, but Tails hardly gets that much credit or attention (especially in SatAM). He helps him out nearly all the time, but Sonic's iconic image always blocks out his own.

Wasn't this already done though in Satam?

Kinda, but nowhere near as what it could've been. I mean, Lazzar took away his speed to test his loyalty, but the episode never really focused that much on Sonic's struggle. He just saves the day like every other episode in a matter of minutes.

I'd like to see this theme brought back again, but only made stronger. Like maybe Snively uses a molecular neutralizer that zaps Sonic's abilities or maybe switches his shoes with heavier shoes, like in "Sonic Labyrinth". And the story can focus on Sonic not recklessly running fast to solve his troubles, thus he has to use his underdeveloped mind in order to succeed in his mission.

Umm... why would Tails be forced into adoption and want to run away from home?

This idea was kinda inspired by the AoStH episode "Tails' New Home." which was one of the better episodes of the series. Since Tails is technically considered an orphan, he could easily be adopted by anyone. For this plot, maybe Sally gets concerned over Tails' safety and searches for a new home for him. When Tails hears about this, he gets upset and runs away from home; looking for his real family.

Eh, I might use Emerl, but the E-123 is one I don't think fits the Satam universe, especially considering Robotnik has a arsenal of robotic soldiers.

I thought it would've been interesting to see this sort of story given to another robot character. I mean, since it looks like the E-series robots won't be making any appearances due to conflicting universes, I figured Gamma's story could be reused for another robot. Since Omega is very similar in tone, I thought he'd be the best replacement for Gamma's story in this series.

Like maybe he's the prototype of a newer breed of Swatbot that Robotnik was testing on, but he failed because his faulty programming gave him a soul. After being rejected and thrown away to rust, he makes his way to the Knothole Village where he secretly befriends Cream and joins the Freedom Fighters in liberating the roboticized citizens.

I may show Rotor discovering the remaining remnant of his family. Not sure though. As for Bunnie... I really don't know.

I thought Bunnie could have an old relationship with Johnny Lightfoot of the Fleetway series. Like maybe they were once a couple, but an argument between their beliefs lead to them breaking up. This could help explain why Bunnie has a hard time trying to form a relationship with other males.

That would mean someone in Knothole would be bullying him, and I can't imagine they would get very far with Sonic and Sally being protective of him.

Well, I'm assuming there are other children in Knothole village, and Tails did say that he was picked on because of his twin tails.

It just seems more plausible to me if they're with him from the start.

And yes, Knuckles is going to need all the help he can get since he has his hands full trying to keep intruders off of his island.

Personally, I like it when Sonic and Tails are on opposite sides. It makes their relationship a bit more believable. I get what you're saying, and I'm not saying I would never explore this plot point. I just want to do it in a way that isn't even close to the horrible 178-179 issues.

Maybe what I could do is have it so Tails maybe become bitter after he plays a big part in Episode 6, when he returns from his injuries and saves his comrades after finding the 3rd Chaos Emerald, but because he bungles it later on, he doesn't get the credit he felt he should get for trying.

Or in Episode 9, when Tails is forced to abandon the Robotropolis detention center because it's about to blow and he couldn't get Fiona out of there, he becomes very bitter at Sonic for dragging him out of the building against his will.

If Tails is going to be upset with Sonic, I want it to be more than just because Sonic shot his mouth off and insulted his parents in front of him.

That was such a low blow and felt very contrived IMHO.

Kinda, but nowhere near as what it could've been. I mean, Lazzar took away his speed to test his loyalty, but the episode never really focused that much on Sonic's struggle. He just saves the day like every other episode in a matter of minutes.

Well, I'll admit this episode idea does have alot of potential.

But, like the body switch one, I wouldn't know how to execute it properly.

Personally, I just can't see Sally ever sending Tails to another home.

The only way I could ever even fathom it is if she knows a raid from Robotnik or Snively is coming and she can't protect him, so she sends Tails to another home as a safety precaution until it's safe.

I thought it would've been interesting to see this sort of story given to another robot character. I mean, since it looks like the E-series robots won't be making any appearances due to conflicting universes, I figured Gamma's story could be reused for another robot. I think Emerl would be the only logical choice in this matter, though I can't see why Robotnik would use such a puny robot when I'm planning to give him Terminator like androids for his army.

I thought Bunnie could have an old relationship with Johnny Lightfoot of the Fleetway series. Like maybe they were once a couple, but an argument between their beliefs lead to them breaking up. This could help explain why Bunnie has a hard time trying to form a relationship with other males.

I'm tinkering with this idea I'll admit, though I'm not sure how to execute it.

Well, I'm assuming there are other children in Knothole village, and Tails did say that he was picked on because of his twin tails.

Yea, but since Knothole has a very small populace, I can't imagine who would be there to bully him.

I like it. Sonic and Tails may be "brothers" in terms of relationship, but even brothers fight on occasions.

I also see your point in the Archie issues, but Tails tends to act pretty sensitive when regarding his parents in the comics. I mean, Tails grew up without his parents and Sonic never bothered telling him about his encounter with them during his journey in space until much later on, so that might've triggered some hatred between them (fueled even further by his relationship with Fiona). And with Sonic badmouthing his parents during the strike, it can easily be taken for a personal insult. Most kids hate it when someone insults their parents, so it's easy to relate with Tails on this.

Well, I'll admit this episode idea does have alot of potential.

But, like the body switch one, I wouldn't know how to execute it properly.

Or you could combine them both. Since Sally's not born with amazing speed, Sonic would have a hard time running in her body and would have to use her intelligence to counter his problems. Meantime, Sally, who is always used to simply giving orders, would learn to use Sonic's speed and reflexes to her advantage while in his body.

As for how this happens, it could be maybe an incident involving the chaos emeralds (like Sonic acting carelessly with them and ignoring Sally's warnings) or could maybe the result of Rotor's failed experiment on restoring Robian minds.

Personally, I just can't see Sally ever sending Tails to another home.

The only way I could ever even fathom it is if she knows a raid from Robotnik or Snively is coming and she can't protect him, so she sends Tails to another home as a safety precaution until it's safe.

    That sounds interesting.

I think Emerl would be the only logical choice in this matter, though I can't see why Robotnik would use such a puny robot when I'm planning to give him Terminator like androids for his army.

Well, Robotnik has Metal Sonic already planned out, who is about the same size as Sonic. In terms of the amount of destruction it can cause, size doesn't really matter.

Terminator-like androids, eh? You mean like the Trooper Badniks seen in Fleetway's "Sonic the Comic"?

Yea, but since Knothole has a very small populace, I can't imagine who would be there to bully him.

How about Anton Brooke from the early Sonic manga? He's an obscure Sonic character that hardly gets any recognition, and a perfect pick for someone to bully Tails.

I'm not saying Tails didn't have a right to be upset, but their whole fight to me just felt forced and not flowing naturally.

I mean, not once did Sonic try and talk with his little bro, and he knew he was upset. Ian had Sonic acknowledge it.

And the fact he would put down Tails' Dad right in front of the family just seemed so OOC for Sonic. He isn't that insensitive of an individual.

Although, with Tails being a technical wizard, he'd be too vital of a team member to send off.

Yea, but Metal Sonic is an exception because he's one of Sonic's biggest robotic enemies for nearly his entire run in the series.

Like I said though, it wouldn't last long, especially with Sonic and Sally there.

Were you going to say something about the body-switching idea? I see you quoted it, but there's no post explaining your thoughts.

Isn't it too early for Tails to be the Freedom Fighters' top inventor yet? I figured he was still too young to discover his hidden talent until much later on.

So are the badniks and eggpawns, but I don't see them being used anytime soon in the series.

Like I said though, it wouldn't last long, especially with Sonic and Sally there.

Being bullied is part of Tails' childhood across all the Sonic media, so it would seem kinda outta character not to include a hint of it in the series. Sonic and Sally may have protection over him, but I doubt that will protect him from everything.

    I don't remember what I said if I did.

Yea, but as the series drags on, his talents do get discovered, where Sally finds out he's an even better at technical stuff than Rotor.

So are the badniks and eggpawns, but I don't see them being used anytime soon in the series.

They aren't even close to being the threat Metal Sonic can be though, especially the way I will portray him.

I know what you're saying, but if I did show bullying, it wouldn't last for very long.

I for one vehemently hate bullying as a whole.
