How did you get into SatAM?

I remember way back since before I had even started kindergarten yet, I was into the Sonic the Hedgehog games (at the time all my family had was Sonic the Hedgehog 2, 3, and Sonic Spinball), my younger brother and I used to watch The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog religiously on TV.

Flash forward a year or two, when my brother and I would tune in just before I left for school, instead of The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, it was a different Sonic cartoon. The same Sonic and Tails were there, but there was a much larger main cast and the overall style was less cartoony, and was instead much more detailed. Not to mention that the humor was dialed back quite a bit, and it was much more serious in tone.

Needless to say, these aspects of Sonic the Hedgehog had me very interested, even if at the time I didn't realize that it was a completely separate series from AoStH. Initially I had thought that this took place some time after AoStH and that Scratch and Grounder were still in this series, only Scratch got shrunk, lost his ability to speak, and just sat there on Robotnik's shoulder, and Grounder somehow became human and changed his name to Snively. I was 6. Shut up.

The most of this series that I had watched during my childhood though were two episodes that my family owned on tape, which were Hooked on Sonics and Warp Sonic. It wasn't until 2006 that I actually saw the series in its entirety on YouTube (and found out that it ended on a cliffhanger ), and now I own the box set.

I was on 1995 hooked on AOSTH, after "Sonically ever after" Came SatAM assimilated as a continuation of previous series, even it shared title cards, SatAM was only aired one time, kids looks dind't liked it here...

Now I tolerate AOSTH, I am hooked on SatAM's 1st Season, 2nd never aired here, so no Clotheshanger in Spain.

i saw the "Project Sonic"(or was it the other way around?)and when i searched it Yahoo! one of the things that popped up was "Sonic the Hedgehog: The Doomsday Project" i didn't know what that meant so i clicked on it and ended up seeing the ending first, intrigued i went to Wikipedia and looked it up, a bit later i saw the complete series at Barnes & Nobles, i remembered it and spent the last money i had left on me, and i've been in love it ever since

I first watched Satam on a VHS tape that I rented from Blockbuster. When I saw the cover I was like "HOLY CRAP IT'S SONIC!!! *looks at Sally* But who's that?"

Before watching it, all I had watched before was Aosth, so you could probably guess what my expectations where. In other words, my expectations where completely blown away, except for Sonic having the same voice. I thought that Robotniks voice sounded kinda creepy when I first watched it, though nowadays I think it just sounds awesome.

Nowadays I have the complete series on DVD (the DVD set with all the fan art on it), so now I can watch it when ever I want.

All you need to know is the first Sonic SatAM episode: Heads or Tails. On ABC. From then on, I was hooked. Too easy!

I used to watch it when I was younger, around 8 I'd say, before going to school (because in England it was on every weekday morning). I used to get really upset if AoStH was on instead, or if Bunnie wasn't in the episode because she was my favourite character. xD

It's only recently I managed to get hold of the box set. I feel all nostalgic. :')

Lemme tell ya, my story is similar. When I was just a child, I was obsessed with Sonic. I played Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Sonic Spinball on my Dad's Sega Genesis. One day while I was at blockbuster, I saw an Aosth VHS for the first time and in my head I was like "WOW IT'S SONIC!". So we rented and watched whatever Aosth VHS tapes we could find. I quite enjoyed the episodes I got to see. When I went to Blockbuster again another day, I saw another Sonic VHS, but this time it was Sonic SatAM. Again I was like "WOW IT'S SONIC! But who's that other girl? Idc, it's Sonic!". So I got to rent 2 of the 3 SatAM VHS tapes (don't know why I never saw the "Sonic Racer" VHS. That one got ignored). And lemme tell ya, I loved them! I was just hooked! It had great action, great characters, great humor, and a great story to go along with it! And, that is my story!

This was one of my first memories before I ended up "sleeping" for a couple years and waking up around my sixth birthday. Watching this about 15 years later was strange. I still get chills watching it.

Although, from the memory, it was Tails and Knuckles on the bridge. Weird.

I've been a fan of Sonic for only more than two years now, and I actually didn't get aboard the StH bandwagon until I came across the Nostalgia Critic's review. I dunno why, but that review really sparked my interest in the franchise greatly.

However, that didn't mean that I wasn't familiar with Sonic at all. I do recall (but barely) of seeing a few episodes of SatAM and playing one of the original Genesis games with my cousin when I was around seven years old; but after that, I didn't really think much of it. I was more in the Super Mario Bros crowd when I was a kid (but only the games). I also did, at some point in 2002, watch some reruns of AoStH on ToonDisney. At first, I was kind of disappointed since I thought beforehand that ToonDisney was actually airing the SatAM show (and God I wish they did!), but I still watched in anyways while it lasted.

My first encounter with Sonic was way back when I was being babysitted near my parents' job. The babysitter had a whole bunch of random videos for me to watch, including an old VHS tape of AoStH. But because it was so long ago, I hardly remember watching it. I remembered Sonic, Tails, Robotnik, and the dumbots (who I thought were the good-guys).

Nearly a decade later, I became better acquainted with the Sonic series when my younger bother bought "Sonic Adventure 2: Battle" for our Gamecube. At first, I was confused by the premise (I thought Shadow was the main villain, not Robotnik). But when my brother later bought "Sonic Adventure DX", "Sonic Mega Collection", and "Sonic Heroes"; I started to like the series better. You could say I was a SegaSonic fan.

Around in 2004, we heard that there was a Sonic show airing on television, so we decided to check it out. It was none other than "Sonic X". We got really hyped and decided to rent the entire series on Netflix. Only the first two seasons were available, so it left us on a cliffhanger at episode 52. But not too long after that, my brother bought the newest Sonic game available that year. It was "Shadow the Hedgehog" (and you can guess what our reaction was).

"Shadow the Hedgehog" nearly killed my joy of the series, so I decided to leave it (checking up on it every so often). But around in 2007, I found a whole bunch of old 90's television series illegally uploaded onto Youtube (including TMNT, Animaniacs, DuckTales, Rocko's Modern Life, Batman: TAS, ect.). One episode I renember watching was the pilot episode of SatAM, which featured the characters from the comics I remembered reading about on the "Sonic Mega Collection". It was interesting, but it didn't keep my interest to watch the whole series.

But later on, I discovered the "Nostalgia Critic". Amongst the episodes I remember watching was the "AoStH" review, which I suddenly remembered watching all those years ago. Of course, the Critic tore apart the series; but when he introduced the better series (SatAM), I immoderately got interested and checked the series on Youtube. I also found "Sonic Underground" (which I thought was a spin-off of SatAM, due to their similarities), so I watched both series simultaneously.

Some episodes were dumb (both SU and SatAM), but I loved both the series. They renewed by interest in the Sonic franachise. And I can't thank them enough.

I got into SatAM from watching an ABC cartoon preview on their TGIF show block. From the first episode, I was hooked and it never disappointed for the two years it aired. Good times and an excellent thread I shall add !

Oh wow! i just found out about it a couple years ago Haha! man i wish i could of seen it when it was on the air. i tried asking YTV to bring it back on but the only show that they listen to me was Sonic X yup i was the one who got them to re air it because i used to watch it when i was younger on FOXBOX!!!! and i missed it because at the time i though that was the only sonic show so i emailed YTV and a couple weeks later they aired it.

I wound up coming over from the Nostalgia Critic review as well. I wound up watching the episodes, originally because I had nothing better to do. Obviously it went over pretty well. I'd heard of Sonic before that, but I didn't really start playing the games until after I watched SatAM.
