noise...the noise traveled for miles through these endless, hollow tunnels. the chatter of simians and mammels alike could be heard from deep within the caverns, travelling until they became only but a distant whisper.
but they were not the only ones down here, there was another. the first.
hidden deep away in the hollows, he could not see them, but he definitely knew that they were there. sinister breathing, silent, hungry whispers living in the dark. hiding in the vast darkness, unseen. his existence only visible through his eyes. his vulgar, petrifying, dead eyes.
he could hear them, the mobians. the fragility of this endless chasm, he could sense the damage they had already done here. several cave-ins, rock pile-ups, and their presense: they reaked of clean and purity, they were not meant to be here. though, unfortinately, now that they were here, he would now make sure that they would not leave. they would join the ranks of the dead, the mangled, the disemboweled, the deceased from ages before them. he would consume them from matter to bone.
one was already ensnared in it's grasp, a female, caught by thick, silky wires of, the thing, it's own creation. a delicate, unsuspecting trap, even considered a natural beauty to the eye. yet it had brung so many before her to their deaths
others were here too, but only by accident. only now they were trapped, no thanks to the thing.
one unwelcome visitor, a small metal drone, in mid-flight and carelessly mapping the tunnels in which it's keeper took an age to develope, to create. to preserve, to keep it a secret. it's miniture search light carving light through the dead and the ancient. a foolish mistake.
sinister whispers plagued the air, getting louder and louder, closer and closer.
the little robot, whirring and beeping away to itself, was unaware of the danger it was looming against. in secrecy, a giant organism, a huge arthapod of a creature watched over the drone. scaling the walls, remaining unseen. a few skulls and bones fell to the ground, smashing instantly. dry clay and soil fell too, acompanied by more whispers. whispers of death.
the little mechanical pod scurried along, untouched. but only for so long. during it's [unwanted] lingering visit, it came to a [not the] central chamber. resembling a honeycomb hive, riddled with at least a thousand or more so tunnels, sprouting off into every direction possible. more remarkable, the little robot was stumped.
this, on the other hand, was the oppertune moment for the beholder of the tunnels himself, to berid of the pesky, insignificant trespasser from his ghoulish residence. the unknown 'resident', towering meters high, possitioned himself above the mechanical drone. casting a dark shadow over the puny machine. tentitively, it lowered one of it's forearms in front of the robot. dangling there for a moment.
the robot had only a chance to visualise it, then with a deafening screach, the arm cleaved the machine in two. the robot then fell to the floor, in two large pieces, now completely devoid of life. in one swift moment the arm relinquisged and dissapeared back toward the abyssal roof inclosure. the solum and ghastly whispers returned once again.
the huge thing then lowered itself down to ground level, via the aid a long, thick metal-like thread. gissening in the dark with a bright silver, hanging loosely like a neon light. with a gentle thud it came to soft ground, trailing slime and poison with it.a lingering stench of death became a constant, degrading smell of impossible disgust.
"i smell.......FOOOOD!!!" the giant thing shreiked, echoing all the way through the entire hollows. a second, gruesome howl of evil soon bellowed after the first. with this, a mortifying silence blanketed over caverns, spanning the entire hollows. and the thing, whatever it was to be, had now disspeared back into the tunnel network. with frightening speed.
if you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, then you must first create the universe.
to suceed is to go from failure to failure without the loss of enthusiasm.
