I liked the movie. It had some good Sonic references, but I would have liked for there to have been even more of them. I'd give the Sonic movie a 75%. I look forward to any sequel(s) it might get.

It was such a great movie, in my opinion. I am pleased that they committed to the redesign. I plan on seeing it in theaters a couple more times not only to enjoy it, but to show support.

I loved it. Sure, there's plenty of stuff I could nit-pick about it if I wanted to, but by the end of the movie my face hurt from smiling, and I really couldn't ask for more than that.

My favorite thing about it was definitely Sonic's design and personality in the movie. They gave him a lot of heart, enthusiasm, and playfulness, while still retaining his snarky attitude. He's fast and cool and all that, but also charming and downright adorable, which is a side we haven't seen enough of lately. And Sonic's redesign--apart from the occasional awkward animation or pose--is by far my favorite 3D imagining of the character so far.

Jim Carrey's Robotnik is both absurd and funny to watch and seriously heartless and villainous at the same time. So in a way it combines both of Robotnik/Eggman's common portrayals into a single character. And it's neat the way they evolve the character and seem to set things up for a sequel.

I was uneasy about the live action "road trip" setup of the movie, but it does it well, giving a reason for why Sonic and Robotnik are on Earth and, again, setting up interesting possibilities for sequels. And it probably gives the movie broader mass-market appeal as an introduction to the characters.

Of course I was happy to see Robotnik called by his original name, and an obligatory chili dog reference.

This movie was a seriously delightful and unexpected surprise.
