Salvation: The Learning, Part II

I haven't logged into this account in probably about 7 years or so, having mostly moved on from the sonic fandom. Every few months, however, I check back here for new chapters of this series. This story (and its predecessor) are amazing. This will probably be the last satam story I ever read, and I can't imagine a better one to end on. The growth and loss of childhood innocence the characters experience feels like a metaphor for my own growth along with, and eventually away from, this show and the time in my life it represents. That said, the characters are still true to their core deep down, just as this show will always be part of me. Anyway, I just thought I should share my appreciation for this wonderful story, and thanks for keeping at it after all this time.

Also, I love that the ship's computer is Unix; that's a nice touch

You know, there are plenty of times I think of letting this fic die -- then I see posts like this and immediately want to pick it up again. Thank you so much, man. A little encouragement goes a long, long way for me.

The theme of growing up and the end of innocence wasn't ever really intended by design, but I'm not surprised that it's turned out in such a way - it's been nine years since I started writing the original fic at the age of seventeen and while I'm now planning out all the major plot structure, all of the minute-to-minute stuff and character moments are more-or-less off the cuff and from the heart.

I have been working on this story for almost SIX YEARS. I must admit, music is my main creative outlet these days so I don't find much time for fanfic writing, though I still do intend to finish this thing... even if I'm only posting chapters annually now. :/

Blowing the dust off this old account once more just to say thank you for seeing this through to the end. I haven't yet read the final chapters, and I'll admit some hesitation in doing so, since it represents the last piece of unfinished business I have with respect to satam. However, I've learned that there's nothing to be gained in lingering on the inevitable, so I'll be diving in soon to see how this all comes to a close. Thanks again, and farewell.
