No helicopter ears is a term used to describe rabbits who either have one ear flopping down, one ear standing up or a rabbit who has ears pointing horizontally to the side. Bunnie in SatAM is the first type; her left ear almost always stands upright whilst her right ear flops over her face. Early Archie Bunnie was like this too but these days her ears are put in a variety of poses.

A shame really, AJ seems to be the main character getting the short end of the straw in spotlight as well. Cowgirls seem to have an unlucky streak with cartoon writers.

"Helicopter rabbit" is just a term my neighbor would use to describe rabbits that had one ear that stood up and the other lied flat. We had a litter of baby rabbits born; both parents were lop (where both ears lie flat, like Cream and Vanillia) rabbits but some of the babies had an ear that would stand up while the other one would lie flat. When the neighbor lady came over to see the new baby rabbits and we talked about their ears, she sai: "Oh yes. We've had rabbits like that. We always just called them helicopters."

It is indeed a shame that they didn't make better use of her, but then, I think there's a lot about Bunnie that is extreme - probably too extreme to be portrayed well in SatAM. Let me just do a quick brainstorm of ideas that hinge off her as a character:

- Going into more depth about her feelings about her robotic limbs. As somebody else mentioned, we saw her being a bit obsessed by her looks, and I think the Archie comic has touched on the idea that her limbs were slowly killing her, but I bet the feeling of self-rejection, self-resentment etc. got pretty intense for her sometimes.

- Simple practicalities like her weight (they were pretty sturdy legs. Could she have been very heavy? I don't know enough about metals as construction materials and the limits of different metals for use in robotics to comments, but what's the chances she was lightweight?), personal hygiene and maintenance, dating, etc.

- Others' perception of her. Did some suspect that she might secretly be fully robotic, and just biding her time? How did she learn to deal with that, if so? Did others see her as having some kind of duty to use her strength? Did other Mobians tend to fetishize her the way humans do on this world? How was that for her, really?

- Her relationships with other females, and with males.

- Her potential inability to have children.

- The Mobians might be able to clear away most of the evidence of Robotnik's reign after he dies, but she will probably have to live with those limbs her whole life.

- The possibility of depression (especially hidden underneath a light n' fluffy personality), or lingering anger.

There are all sorts of possibilities.
