Sonic Satam's Timeslot History On ABC(cross-post from FUS).

Hi guys. It's been a while.

Within the last 2 days, I decided to take on a small task of my own, which was to find out the week by week broadcast history for the Sonic SatAM on it's original network, ABC.

With the use of some historical newspapers at the Google Newspaper Archive(notably, the paper's respective TV guides), I found all of them.

The list of the times is as follows(all times ET/PT)

From the Sept. 18, 1993 show premiere to Nov. 13 that year, the show aired at 9AM.

From Nov. 20 to Dec. 18, the show would start it's double-run, airing eps at 8:30AM & 9AM.

The show would begin it's Season 1 reruns on Dec. 18.

On Dec. 25 that year, the show only had a single airing that day at 8:30AM.

On Jan. 1, 1994, the show had a single airing at 9AM.

From Jan. 8 to April 30, the show returned to double-runs at 8:30AM and 9AM.

On May 7, the show would no longer double-run, going back to single airings at 9AM. The only exception was on July 23, where the show was nationally pre-empted for the British Open Golf Championship. The single airings at 9AM would continue until Sept. 3, when Season 1 was in rerun for the last time.

On Sept. 10, and lasting until Dec. 10, Season 2 would be shown at 8:30AM. Season 2's first run ended on Dec. 3.

On Dec. 17, and lasting until the end of the show's run on ABC on June 3, 1995, the show would be seen at 8AM.

One thing I noticed in those TV guides is that, for the most part, Eastern time airings didn't see a lot of pre-emptions. That actually affected the West coast more than it did the East.

Anyway, there's that mystery solved.

I have an update here, this time regarding the Sonic SatAM on the USA Network.

Through the Google News Archive, I saw that the TV listings from the Free Lance-Star in Fredericksburg, Virginia contained the lineup for the USA Network.

In my search, I discovered that both AoStH and the SatAM aired on that channel for 2 years, with the date range going from Monday, Sept. 11, 1995 to Thursday, Sept. 11, 1997(right down to the day too).

And, my findings uncovered that the Sonic SatAM appeared to only have a limited run on that network, where it would air at 7AM ET/PT from Oct. 21, 1996 to Jan. 3, 1997, with interruptions on Nov. 28(U.S. ThanksGiving), Nov. 29(Black Friday), Dec. 25(Christmas Day), and Dec. 26(Boxing Day). Special programming would air in those slots.

Now, these are just the dates I found. But if I'm wrong, and if anyone here has official issues of TV Guide from this period that may have clearly listed the different titles of the 2 shows, and may show more airings for the SatAM on USA, I'd like you to post that info here, so I can make corrections.

I looked at an old newspaper microfilm before (they have those at the public library) from my area during the time SatAm was airing on ABC. The TV listing listed Sonic SatAm as simply "Sonic" and AoSTH as "Sonic The Hedgehog" which is ironic too.

That's a good first step, but I'm thinking that, if you can, maybe upgrade to trying to find info from TV Guide itself too. And yeah, that's one thing that I also noticed too when looking at the listings for those newspaper TV guides...where it seemed like AoStH was listed in all slots where either of the Sonic TV shows aired on the USA Network then.

It might also be helpful, if anyone here still has them in digital format, to upload the USA Network cuts of the Sonic SatAM somewhere too, whether it's YouTube, DailyMotion, Vimeo, etc., or just offer them as a download from a service like Mediafire, if it still exists.
