I would watch it on TV when I was younger. I thought it was awesome and badass compared to most kids shows.
"Shadow, why are you doing this?" "It was what Maria wanted..." "Shadow, you must make everybody perish...." "Are you sure? Maybe she said..." "Get a place in Paris..." "Oh my gosh, you're right!"

Tails, my first crush. I love you. :D

Yakko, I love you too. I will be your Hello Nurse! *awesome face*

Run along, red-shirted boy... While you still can...

During its initial run on ABC. I followed it during almost its entire run (do not recall seeing Doomsday though). First non-Disney show I ever really enjoyed. Actually, I was into the show before I was into the game. I played it occasionally, but I was disappointed not to see any of the Freedom Fighters in it.

I use to watch AOSTH on a channel called POP. One day I came downstairs and instead of AOSTH being on it was Satam!

At this time (I was 4 or 5) I didn't know Sonic was a game franchise so I assumed AOSTH was the only show and was like "I didn't know there was another sonic show! :twanscared: "

I could tell it was a separate continuity since everything was different but I was immediately hooked onto the show!

Back on the Friday night preview show on TGIF the day before it premiered. I was kind of a fan of the games, mostly with the addition of Tails in Sonic 2 before hand, but SatAM quickly solidified my fandom; in my opinion nothing since has hit the same level.

I was at a friends house one day, and he showed me a few episodes on a VHS tape. I remember getting grossed out by Sonic and Sally kissing, along with Tails, lol! (in Hooked on Sonics)

Later on we rented some VHS tapes. All the material was from Season 1. I never saw it on TV; it was just the Archie comics for us for years. Eventually I re-discovered the series online, and got the boxset not too long afterwards when it came out.

Very simple rundown of the events that lead up to it:

-Dad bought a Sega Genesis so he could play the Jurassic Park game, but the Genesis was also bundled with Sonic 2, I loved playing that game (Although I was six years old at the time, and wasn't too good at it)
-Previews for the show came on, and Dad was all like "There is a show of it now? That videogame my son is so into?"
-So, he wakes up early in the morning to record episodes, since I was too lazy to wake up that early on a Saturday.

And that is the short version of it, we later got into the comic since it was almost more of the same thing, and got the other Sonic games as they came out. If the Genesis was packed-in with something else, I would have probably liked that, or at least not had been as big of a Sonic fan.

But yeah, it was NOT promoted well at all, which probably didn't help. Even in the US, I seem to remember there being more of a commercial push for AoStH, with what little merchandise there was resembling that more.

Wasn't just that. As part of ABC's purchase by Disney, they had to clear out their entire Saturday morning lineup to make way for One Saturday Morning, which wasn't too bad BUT featured the atrocity known as The Goliath Chronicles (any Gargoyles fans should recall that monstrosity). Regardless of a show's ratings, it would have to have been scrapped.

Way back when I was 9 or so, my brother and I would watch Sonic X on YouTube because we had nothing better to do. A video popped up afterwards, which happened to be a Sonic Shorts video. One of them featured a character that I couldn't recognize for the life of me. I figured it must have been an OC, so I left it at that. Not long after, I was watching old Nostalgia Critic videos, and found one about Sonic cartoons.

When in the middle of talking about SatAM, I suddenly recognized one of the characters. Despite being off-put by Sonic's design, I was curious. I looked it up and watched the whole thing. The mystery character, I learned, was Sally Acorn.
