    Attacks in Norway

    Discuss.

What could possibly make this guy think that killing children and setting off bombs (i.e. becoming a terrorist himself) was an effective way to get others on his side, when--as I understand it--one of his goals was to keep Muslims out of the country, presumably because he's afraid that they're terrorists?

Maybe this guy just wasn't playing with a full deck (although his interview with himself seems to indicate he's quite cogent), but it's still disturbing to see what fear and racism/nationalism can do to people, and how people of any religion, culture, etc can come to believe that violence against innocent people is an acceptable route to achieve their goals.

I also find the argument that Norway needs to somehow sacrifice freedom to prevent something like this from happening again very disturbing. Is that really the proper response to a one-time event like this--especially when that's exactly what this guy wanted to see happen? Violence can never be eradicated completely, and as I understand it Norway still has a pretty darn good track record.

The other highly disturbing thing for me is that he's associating the "Vienna school of thought" (which a quick Google search equates with the Austrian school of economics) with nationalism and anti-multiculturalism, which it has absolutely nothing to do with. The thinkers associated with that school of thought were both anti-Marxist and anti-Fascist/nationalist for the reason that both were violent, collectivist movements which advocated central-planning of society and the economy. And, in practice, they were not so different from one another.

How the heck did being anti-immigration ever get lumped in with being pro-market, anyway? Those two views are almost diametrically opposed to one another!

Muslims are not "just a bunch of terrorists", are actually a very powerful lobby for all the wrong reasons.

They want to build a mosque on virtually every public terrains, even if is going to build an hospital or a school, it must be halted and build a mosque, otherwise, the goverment is labelled as 'racist', the more guilty the society feels, the more they benefit, in public hospitals , not matter the time you spended waiting, as long there's an immigrant in the room, he gets treatment before you for sake's of "positive discrimination" The alternatire is a private clinic, but whatever if you choose public or private, you must keep on paying public. Imagine if in US people must pay OBLIGATORY for two insurances, on yours and one for inmigrants/ people don't paying for it.I consider the idea of discrimination negative for itself, of course here people don't want to be caught saying that, they'l be lavelled as 'Fascists' at light speed.
Of course, what done that guy is atrocious, but considering how tastes the dish forcefeed in Europe one can just wonder how this not happen more...

P.S. Hearing the evening news, The guy had been laveled as "Fascist" oficially, even when he pointed the three great dangers of civilitation as "Islamism, Comunism, and FASCIM", TV shoved their shoe on their own mouth.

This is the trouble with public property in my view. The more that gets put into the public domain, the more there is that has to be decided collectively--from the top down--and the less room there is for people to have the freedom to make their own decisions, to discover what works and what doesn't, etc. Instead, you get these kinds of conflicts where people fight with each other over what society's goals should be, exactly how much of this or that display of religion is fair or equal, who should get what healthcare, etc.

Hmm, whether or not he called himself a fascist, his views suggested the common understanding of one. And he did call himself a nationalist, which as far as I'm concerned is the same thing.

That fights are quite desired by goverments, people fights on themselves, not watching beyond the tip of their noses, and then governors can <######> as much as they want (the # mean replace with any kind of activity). Wasn't Washinton who said something of "A home warring with themselves cannot exist?"

About fascism, is quite an obsolete term by now, it was coined by Mussolini referring ancient Rome, but it was a random act, back then it only meant a type of Troop / Army formation (on a thick line forming a finger like shape (Fascis on Latin) Imagine if Bush's program was called Marinerism because he deployed Marines arround the glove, it don't makes much sense...

So fascism maybe a random name, but the meaning is so bad an so widely know, beat people to do one's willl, that cannot work because when one's beaten instead of fullfill an order, would just complain and mourn about being beaten, it's not just cruel, it logically serves no purpose.

    Ah yes, the Islamophobia topic...

Frighteningly recurrent in not just America but Europe's having just as difficult of a time with acceptance as more and more Muslim communities are expanding.

Frankly, I'm bringing this up because due to the media's placing of the perpetrator under a microscope and obsession with detailing psychopaths and their motives for whatever reason, they try to examine his reasoning - unaware that it makes them look like they're searching for an excuse for an unthinkable tragedy of this measure.
Basically, they came up with this:

    He's an islamophobe.
    He's "Christian".
He's fascinated with the Templar Knights.

So, this budges the Islamophobia issue and they're making a big deal of the fact that he's Christian. Though these acts are just as "Christian" as Jihadism is to being "Muslim". This guy was no better, attacking innocent people, in the name of some sort of political protest?

Nah, sounds like just another psychopath to me. People need to start differentiating the religious from the insane & religious.
